Clydeside schools are amazing!

This has been quite a day!

P5 at All Saints Primary, Inverclyde had another meeting with Provost Moran, Councillor McMcCormick and representing Cloch Housing this time, Alison McManus.

The vandalised George Wyllie scul?ture which is not far from the school and which the pupils want to adopt, is to be restored, repainted and relocated!

Jim Bistow was also there from Inverclyde Community Development Trust and he discussed with the pupils what they wanted to happen and how his team will be working with them to make sure it does.

Staff, and enthusiastic local residents, as well as a photographer from the local newspaper, The Greenock Telegraph, went out to visit the sculpture with the pupils, and in between that pupils were also making a video about their favourite parts of the exhibition.

More news on all of that to come. Well done P5 All Saints!

There was so much happening that somehow a photo for today's blip was overlooked but this shot was taken on the drive back from the school and it seems fitting in the end, a beautiful moon over the River Clyde, crane and boats.

Over on the other side of the water today, P7b Kilbowie Primary, West Dunbartonshire had been talking art and society with the local MSP, Gil Paterson. He came in to hear about their investigations into George Wyllie and to see the work they've been doing. You can see them on P7b's own blipfoto journal, learningcloud. Well done to them too and for their comments on our blip yesterday.

And down river in Ayr, P7 Braehead Primary now has a whole fleet of paper boats on display in Ayr County Buildings, just launched by South Ayrshire Provost, Helen Moonie. They'll be doing our blip on Thursday about that.

Up river, S1 Notre Dame High School was putting finishing touches to Wyllie-inspired bird sculptures. You'll be hearing about that tomorrow.

So, we forgot to take a photo in the midst of everything, but taking one of the Clyde which is the focus of what the schools are thinking about and where they are, wherever on it, was a good moment to reflect, as the moon shone brightly on the river.

Quite a day! Brilliant work everyone!
