Beach botany

Had to make a trip to Morecambe this morning to sign some papers at our Solicitors.

With some time to spare what could be better than a bit of beach botany. This is a nice little collection for as late as November 9th.

Clockwise from top left:
Sea Rocket ( Cakile maritima)
Sea Holly (Eryngium maritimum)
Sea Mayweed ( Matricaria maritima)
Sea Spurge ( Euphorbia paralias)

The good news is that in the Budget the Chancellor gave £100,000 towards the feasibility study for building the Eden Project of the North on the large empty space on Morecambe promenade. So it must be serious and it will transform the town if it happens. I hope to live to see it.

My extra gives a glimpse of the view across Morecambe Bay from the proposed site.
