When you come to a fork in the road, take it

Good quote from Yogi Berra the Yankee baseball player and manager. We took the fork in the road to Arnold, from SoCal. We are now safely at our home in Arnold, Ca, having left the fires in SoCal behind us for now. Our home and the homes of our daughter and son are OK, but the Santa Anna winds are supposed to kick in again from Sunday until Tuesday. There are so many embers about that it will not take much to fan them back into a full blown fire again.

The entire communities around Thousand Oaks are reeling right now with all the recent events. All we know to do is to love people through it. Our comfort comes in our relationship with God through Christ, who's treatment while on earth also makes no sense, except that God was playing the long game - not just that moment in time.

Fall is still around in Arnold, not all the pretty fall colors are gone, so we get to experience these blessings while we wait for SoCal to return to something more normal.
