At home: two friends sharing the winter hay x

The welcome sight of hay. Its been a hard time for the horses. I see them eating non stop. This hay was gathered up after a cut of haylage back in May. Effectively its free hay because it was the left over hay that didn't make it into the wrapping machine. So it was left out on the ground longer to make hay.

Haylage, is grass that is cut and wrapped in plastic, before its properly dried out. The wet weather has meant most people wrapped everything they made, because they just didn't have a block of sunshine long enough to make hay in the spring and summer months.

The horses have their best mates that they are willing to share a pile of hay with. Blue and Milo here, are old friends. Jack and Comet are also Hay buddies. (see them sharing also in my 'could have been blips' folder)
