War Defences

Along the East Lothian Coast there are many of these concrete blocks, deployed to prevent German landing-craft and vehicles gaining access inland. This is a line leading inland just south of an outcrop by Baldred's Strand.
Along our walk from Tyninghame past St Baldred's Cradle to Ravensheugh Log Cabin we were fortunate to see a Comma butterfly (extra).

This evening we attended a concert entitled To Absent Friends, performed by Edinburgh Brass Band in St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral, in association with Good Life, Good Death, Good Grief. This organisation does not focus only on Wartime Remembrance  but for any death. This proved particularly poignant to us, having learned two days ago that our Organist and Choirmaster had passed away very suddenly; he will be greatly missed, not only in our own church but through his many musical connections. RIP, George.
