After MildlyOffensive’s entry prompted me to visit Königsplatz I limped over there after work.
The Glypothek basted in the warm afternoon sun, a crisp backdrop to the dark red of the displayed poppies.

As I understand, the artwork "Never again" was created by artist Walter Kuhn for Munich as part of a series of current events under the title "1918 - 2018. What is Democracy?".

(Translated) Munich Lord Mayor Dieter Reiter stated "On 11 November 1918 ended with the ceasefire of Compiègne the First World War. The 100th anniversary is a reason for looking back, but also for a deeper examination of our own history and the European project, whose democratic and peaceful achievements are increasingly questioned in their substance by nationalist and populist forces. […]"
