Wide Wednesday . . . Down My Way

My neighbour Shirley and I went to Motueka today.  It is the town across the inlet from me.  We had morning tea with her older half sister and then browsed the shops.  I was going to follow up with a landscape from this area but in the car park was this mural showing the land use history.  Starting with the clearing of the bush and then the planting of apples and vegetables, hops, tobacco, and the fish processing.  Motueka has high sunshine hours and productive soils.  It still has a main street with locally owned shops.  We enjoyed are interactions with the shop keepers and the forester now has a Christmas present.
