Driving South

Today we drove south to Christchurch and to see the lovely daughter.  There was a slip on the state highway which meant a detour via Lake Rotoiti.  That added an hour to the journey but we couldn't do anything about it.  The weather wasn't wonderful but it did make for a moody blip.  
Tomorrow the three of us will drive further south to Queenstown where on Saturday the lovely daughter will run a half marathon.  
Extra is what happened when the forester left the door open this morning.  This was taken through a glass door that slides across to shut the dining room off from the lounge, so it's not very clear.  The weka could jump up to the window seat.  It did walk back outside without leaving anything on the carpet.
