Shake those wings...

The flooding is becoming a bit tiresome now. We took Rosie to Ferry Meadows this morning, but it's now impossible to walk round any of the lakes and our usual car-park was closed because of the flooding. We were confined to a relatively small area of elevated grassland and taking dead-end forays elsewhere. The wildfowl have largely dispersed - I suspect that they're spread out over the huge area of shallow water available in the valley.

After a long period of dull grey weather, we finally saw some blue sky this afternoon, and I nipped out just before sunset to look at the flooding at the Rowing Lake. When I arrived there were two other photographers there, but neither stayed long enough to see the best of the sky. I was going to bring you yet another flooded landscape, but in the end I preferred this Canada goose, shaking its wings. This is one of a small flock who are very much enjoying feasting on the freshly flooded grassland. At least they're happy!
