Olives in the Morning

Woke to a beautiful morning, sunlight sparkling on heavy dew - this was one of the views from the front of our house, of three of our olive trees, heavy with ripe olives.

One of the ladies in the Bible study group has badly broken her foot, had to have an operation in Lisbon, and stuck at home now for the forseeable future. Disturbing how little state help she gets, though it does mean family and neighbours have to get involved. I only popped in for a quick visit, but was served - on a small tablecloth - fresh olives, fresh cheese, grilled sausages, bread, and wine. No idea whether this is normal.

Then went to a keep fit class the town council is laying on for free, lots there, and fun, though I am so unfit! Another strand in the relationships, though. Walked back under a clear, star-filled sky, the bright crescent moon making shadows on the road. So grateful to live somewhere safe enough to walk alone at night.
