The Wicker Horse

Today's the day …………………… to mend

This is the Wicker Horse, created by renowned artists Alex Rigg and Trevor Leat.

It is 18 ft high and was one of the most striking attractions of the 10-day Festival of Light  which took place in Kirkcudbright back in October.  Unbelievably, a few days later, it was vandalised and its legs were broken - much to the chagrin of the local people of the town.

So it was good to see it this evening fully restored and standing proud again.  And by the look of all the red poppies still around, it had played a part in last weekend's commemoration service ……………………….
