Nature Diary ... A Survivor

This Christmas Cactus plant had been abandoned a few weeks ago as it seemed to be totally dead. It was only my lack of housekeeping skills - for which I applaud myself... (i.e.the skillfully cultivated lack thereof) that enabled this wonderful little survivor to bloom once more. It was through earnestly adhering to the mantra 'Boring people have tidy houses' that enabled me to decide I was too interested in too many things to bother to take time to tidy up and throw this 'dead' plant away and Hey! Voila! Beauty unbounded came, as if by magic, from the scrapheap, giving me hope that one day something like that might happen to me too... Yeah. Right. Well anyway, in celebration of its determination to survive I have presented this wonderful solitary bloom in a multi-colour setting and imagine all those surrounding colours somehow pulled together to burst forth thus.
