Dawn

I was awake at 5 am, and when I looked out I was surprised to see that the sky was clear and the moon was just above the mountains. I scrambled to dress and drove off to a vantage point. It was a beautiful sight, a golden moon setting towards the dark mountains, dimly lighting up the high snowfields. It was well before sunrise and unfortunately it was too dark for photos. I could get the moon in a black background, or a white disc over the the mountains.

I watched it slowly sink behind The Torlesse Range, and then I turned to look behind me. Already heralds of the sunrise were in the sky.
