Historic window

I actually took this photo yesterday inside Winchester cathedral. I wanted to show this window seperately because it has such a history.
The original window in the Norman cathedral depicted the normal saints and bible stories but was destroyed by the Roundheads during the English civil war. The local people collected all the shards of coloured glass and as they could not put them back into the original design a mosaic effect has been used. I think it is wonderful that all that glass from so long ago is now having a new lease of life.
