Me please

HtP and I have driven to Birmingham today to Aunty Sheila’s funeral. We encountered a lot of traffic so only just arrived in time.

She arrived in a horse drawn carriage. It was a stunning site and I would have photographed the beautiful white horses but that didn’t seem appropriate.

It was lovely to see all of David’s relations. We only get together for funerals. As we lived in Scotland for over twenty years we didn’t see them very often.

I’d asked permission to take HtP as in some ways it felt awkward taking another man to David’s families’ event. He was warmly welcomed.

We’ve said that we’ll get in touch next year. I’ll try to encourage people to make it happen as it’s important to stay in touch.

We had an easy drive home but it was a long way to go and we are both tired.

As there wasn’t a chance to take a photo here are the boys waiting for a treat.
