A stroll round Lichfield.

It was late afternoon after we had finished our lunch that we took a quick trip to Lichfield. It is only 6  miles up the main road and takes 15 minutes by car, in normal traffic conditions.
I always love to see the lights at this time of year.Minster Pool in the photo is very picturesque in the dusk of early evening in November. We usually visit the lovely cathedral of St Chad's, but as there wasn't a lot of time before we came home for tea, we deferred that for a later date.
There was a lively street fayre with lighted roundabouts for the children and stall vendors selling  everything from crepes, to multicoloured psychedelic windmills which glowed in the gloom. There were plenty of children carrying them and waving them around.
I have never seen a sun look so huge as the one which was setting. I attempted to take a photo but I couldn't do it justice!
It was an amazing sight.
Once the sun had finally sunk out of sight the temperatures plummeted very quickly.
So we set off home as I did not want to be out too much longer in the cold, having not been too good during the week.
Nice to be returning to normal!
Now all I need is to be able to catch up on the accumulated lack of sleep.
