Life in Newburgh on Ythan

Empty

The theme for today's mono-monday being "Empty" here is an empty whisky bottle.

This was once a bottle of Glengoyne single malt whisky. It was distilled on the 8th of April 1968, a couple of months before Mr and Mrs Talpa tied the nuptial knot. It then lay maturing in white oak casks for 25 years before being bottled at cask strength, just in time for Mrs T to to purchase it to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. Most of it was drunk fairly quickly on the basis that whisky once bottled does not improve. The last dram was drunk this summer when we celebrated our 50th anniversary.
I don't think that Mrs T has ever quite got over the shock of the cost of the bottle!
