Empty Tables in an Empty Town

The Market Square in Melrose, deserted at 4pm this afternoon.
Hardly surprising given the cold and the rain.

A few people were scurrying from shop to car, and I was one of them  - apart from the few seconds I paused to snap this. 

My shopping mission was abortive, the fabric shop did not have what I was looking for.  In order not to have had a wasted journey, I went to the bakery and bought some little cakes - well, four - one each for today and tomorrow. And very nice they were too.
