Allegory

Today was spent mostly attending a seminar / workshop at Dunblane Cathedral. We alternated between the church halls and the Cathedral itself and I took advantage of some free time to look at the magnificent stained glass windows in the cathedral choir.

Today's blip is a detail from the 'Allegory' window, which features the sun, moon, stars and clouds on one row and the four winds on the row beneath.

The choir area also features 'Chaos', 'Earth' and 'Humanity' windows, equally striking in design and colour. Unfortunately I only had about ten minutes to study them and grab a photo or two (don't think it would have gone down too well during our opening and closing worship sessions!) so made a mental note to return another day when I have more time.
