Dryad

Today's rain eased off just after 1pm, so I dashed out and drove back to Auchinstarry, where we had been with the Ramblers on Tuesday morning. I wanted to repeat the 'unofficial extension' part of Tuesday's walk around Nethercroy Wood as it was relatively short and easy, but would get me away from the computer where I had been all morning.

Not long after entering the woods I found myself being stared at by a pair of eyes set on what looked like an animal's head protruding from a tree. An existential question came to mind: Who was the one seeing things?

The rest of the walk passed without incident although the rain resumed about 10 minutes before I reached the car park.
