Norwich Castle Gardens

November trip - backblip 4

A day wandering around Norwich with my sister and brother-in-law. Still a lovely city, but much has changed since I moved away over 45 years ago, and parts are hardly recognisable.

MrM hadn't been to Norwich before, so we showed him some of the sights. In the morning the theatre, library, City Hall, Guildhall and market, then through the Royal Arcade to The Bell Hotel (now a Wetherspoons), where we met up with my nephew and niece, and had lunch.

Afterwards, a stroll through the Castle Gardens - many years ago, I sometimes used to walk there after school before catching the bus home. Then we wandered down to the Cathedral where we walked through the Cathedral Close to Pulls Ferry (extra), back along the Riverside walk, and stopped for refreshments at a cafe with a view of the river. Emerged just in time for a bus back to my sister's home.

A very pleasant day, despite the weather - damp and dismal all day.
