Castellón

Warm and sunny. Hot in the afternoon again.

We went by train for the first time from Oropesa to Castellón this morning having purchased tickets yesterday. We were sitting on the Platform in the sun and I thought there was a marked contrast in waiting here as opposed to Leeds Station or any other in the UK.

The train was on time, modern and clean and we had a great view of the surrounding area on the way.

A collage of a few images of our day. The main one is of knitted or crocheted flags or squares attached up the Paseo in solidarity for violence against women. I think there have been many marches this week for this great cause. Some images of the park with it's formal gardens and walkways and the Bullring. Unfortunately, in the Plaza Major there were vehicles parked and they were erecting Christmas lights etc so no clear chance of photos.

On our return to the railway station, we were surprised to have to put our bags through security the same as you would at an airport. No last minute dashing for the train! I expect it was due to the destinations from there - Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid rather than Castellón itself. We were told to stay at the top of the concourse until our train was due in. The one before it from the same Platform was going to Barcelona none stop, wouldn't have wanted to get on that today! Once that had departed we were allowed down. Very helpful staff.

Home in plentry of time for Holly and we enjoyed our day out.
