A Day of Contrasts.

This morning we were invited to a presentation at Megalong Public School. The pupils had made a short documentary film (5 mins) about the Callistemon Megalongensis which is a rare and endangered bottlebrush that grows only in our part of the valley along Nellies Glen Road. We have several on our property.
The children did an excellent job of film making and also explained how they incorporate land care into their curriculum.
The image shows their playground which borders on the native bush.
Probably the most amazing thing about the school is it only has seven students at present. I also went to a small primary school but it was about twice that size.
You have to wonder about the economic sustainability of that but it is certainly a lovely environment for them.

Then for a complete change of scene we came to Sydney and met friends from Tasmania for dinner before they went to “The Book of Mormon”.
After leaving them Mr isbi and I wandered back to station via the harbour and took in the Christmas decorations in the QVB Building.
