I was in town early...

.... so I decided to post my blip early - a wet morning shot; I used my trusty Canon compact, which is small enough to use hand-held under my brolly.

James Street is one of Harrogate's longest established shopping areas and, half and hour later would have parked cars along both sides of the road. At 8:30 there were few people about.

That is probably because many people coming into town were still snarled up in traffic - see today's extra, taken a few minutes later.
