Bury St Edmunds - Day 2

After a beautifully cooked full English breakfast we packed up and took our leave of the Dog & Partridge and its lovely staff and headed off to explore some of this stunning town.  First to marvel at both the inside and outside of the Cathedral and St. Mary's Church and then as the weather was kinder today, still grey but no rain and quite warm, we wandered through the Abbey gardens which will no doubt look an absolute picture come Spring and Summer. We loved the Nativity Scene in Angel Square, and the houses on the green built into the old Abbey walls, see my extra. The shopping precinct was great too full of bespoke (expensive!) shops and others which we all know. We liked the Adnams shop full of their fine ales and (Christmas) Spirits!!

We said our goodbyes to B who was busy working in the pub today and started our longish journey home, which was good despite the many tedious road works.

Glad to be safely home now but we've thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Bury;  there's so much history there so a return visit sometime will be a must.
