It took several days to replace the culvert on this country road, then this rather odd pair of low walls - in large Purbeck stones - were constructed topped with "cocks and hens".  It sticks out like the proverbial "sore thumb" - low brick walls would have been less obtrusive, just as effective and a lot cheaper (Purbeck stone is expensive)
