Tiny Tuesday .....

... fungus.

I'm blipping this quite late so I'm sure the TT host has already gone through all the entries!  Where does the time go!?!

This fungus is growing on our birch tree ..... which seems to be a problem. The fungus is called a polypore and is a necrotrophic parasite on weakened birches, and will cause brown rot and eventually death, being one of the most common fungi visible on dead birches.  Sad as this probably means we will eventually lose this beautiful birch tree. 


I will probably revisit this fungus next week and hopefully post on time!
