A December Birthday

I know several people with December birthdays, including my son, my dad and the friend I went on holiday with! It's such a festive time to celebrate a birthday and when we were staying in Lucerne, we had a lovely surprise of a special birthday cake with candle and piped birthday greeetings. See the photo in extras: the greetings say: "Alles gute zum Geburtstag" which is 'best birthday wishes in German! There was also a bottle of delicious white wine to accompany the little cake (which was still warm)! Such a lovely thing for the hotel to do!

Today, it was my turn to bake a cake and I made one out of ground almonds and chocolate!
