Why does it happen every year?!

Despite Toffee checking that the tree lights were working, after draping them on the Christmas tree, I discovered that one of the four string of 80 lights wasn’t working. Checking each individual bulb didn’t help, so off came the lights. Guess what? I think you know what’s coming... Once off the tree, the lights worked again! Foolishly I then put them back on the tree only to find that they’d packed up yet again! So they’re now lying in a corner of the room where I threw them in disgust, and yes, they’re now working!!

(Had to cancel today’s plans to visit Salisbury Cathedral and Christmas Market. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak...)
