My day

Bay of Islands NZ

Today we disembarked via a tender to Waitangi, caught a bus into Paihai and another ferry to Russell, the oldest settlement in NZ. I loved the old timber architecture in the town. We took an hour long minibus trip around the town to hear about the history.

It’s the last day of the cruise but as we are staying on board for the return trip are not as sad as the other passengers who have to say good bye and return to work and only three meals a day, poor things. We are changing cabins so have to pack up. Our next cabin ( stateroom they are called these days) is at the back of the ship so that will make it different looking out the window. We have transit tickets for Auckland tomorrow so will have a look around before boarding again for the trip home.

We have a new favourite bar, on deck 15 at the stern. I took some photos of the sunset and views back to the Bay of Islands. The other is one taken in Russell.

Happy birthday to our lovely daughter in law Kristy.
