Gently Steaming

Janet and I took advantage of a lovely gift from my eldest and her husband, and nipped into Bath for a bit of luxury in the Thermal Spa. On quite a chilly, even flippin' cold, afternoon it was pleasant to float in the open air rooftop pool and even nicer to steam gently in the rooms below. Finishing it off with a meal dressed in Thermae dressing gowns it was very destressing and well timed.

As a child I swam in the 'old' Roman Baths quite a lot, even in the murky green lead lined pool of the King's Bath. Deep in the old Baths there is a carving of the Gorgon, alongside the godess Sulis Minerva. This stained glass version of him is lovely, and caused me to realise the gorgon had wings, which I'd heretofore not noticed (sorry Gorgon).

And now we're home, and in time to see Her Incompentenceness survive as a lame duck Prime Minister, which is probably a good thing. She is now able to prevent the hard line Brexiteers from forcing us into a No Deal exit, and with such a rubbish deal on offer, a Peoples' Vote might yet come about. And be won. And we might be able to put this nonsense to bed.

Maybe.
