Confluence

The River Kent flows out through its estuary with Arnside on its southern side and Grange over Sands on the northern bank.

A couple of miles upstream from Arnside it is joined by its tributary the River Bela.

Today’s shot shows the Kent at the top left. Its source is in the lakeland fells and it flows through the town of Kendal.
The Bela which comes in from the right hand side originates in the western side of the Trough of Bowland east of Lancaster.
