Nothing happens here...

Over the hill and far away...

The hills on the horizon are the edge of the Pennines at Tow Law some 25 miles away.  The town stands about 1000 feet above sea level and gets snowed in every Winter. The next highest point eastwards is Houghton le Spring 4 miles from the East coast, so you can see that any wind and snow has a free run at our bit of County Durham.

We are forecast gales and rain - snow over high ground for the next 36 hours.  I'm really looking forward to it. ;-)

I hope ASDA have plenty of bread, potatoes and milk in and that the take-away deliveries will get through to all those people who are wetting themselves on our local websites   :o

The same people who stock up with enough food to last a week, quite losing sight of the fact that the festive season means the shops are only closed for around 24 hours.
