Autumn ambers

Firstly, a big thankyou for putting my 7 swans a flying on page 2 of populars :-)
We were rubbish at last nights quiz!!!
Nor did we win a single raffle prize!!!

Slept well, beautiful and bright morning, but boy was it cold!

We had a light fruity breakfast, after our excesses yesterday, a christmas meal out with friends at lunchtime, and a Christmas meal pre quizzing too, with wise choices, we just about managed! Our hairdresser came to our house mid afternoon, in between the two meal too!!

Had a walk along the canal this morning where todays blip was taken, looking down across the flashes.I love the colours with the low sun at this, time of year.

Later, we decided to walk into town as we needed the last couple of "bits". That lead us to Reds cafe for lunch of course ;-)

The afternoon was taken up with tidying the front garden, getting rid of the last leaves, cutting back the laurel and cotoneaster.
Between us we managed to trim the very top of the magnolia, of its long thin spurs. I refilled all the bird feeders and bird bath and lastly took, down themlights from around the porch, that had given up thr ghost, and replaced them with new ones.

Later, after roasting a chicken, I made a basic fresh vegetable soup, with chicken stock, leeks, onions, carrots, brocolli, thyme, bayleaf, garlic, seasoning, which I blitzed down, then added thin noodles, sweetcorn, shredded chicken and fresh parsley.

Even if I say so myself, it turned out really well, made a substantial soup, which we have had for dinner, with crusty bread and chicken legs.
The chicken breasts will be converted into something for dinner tomorrow, no doubt.

Think we will be chilling this evening after a busy spell!
