Thank You For the Days ..

Light in the East

Off into Berwickshire this morning to see our old friends C & Ch.  The latter is a political activist, so you can guess what dominated the conversation.  His son D is doing their family Christmas this year and he has said he's putting a money box on the table and every time the B* word is mentioned the culprit has to put a pound in.  I think D's favourite charity will be doing rather well.

Afterwards, since it was a lovely bright day, and the sea was calling us, we drove the few extra miles to Berwick itself, and walked for a while round the old walls. That's where I took this shot of the buildings along the shore.

The cold drove us  into the town. It's a warren of lanes and steps and former warehouses, like many old seaports. LS Lowry used to come here for his holidays, and the view in the extra reminded me of the sort of scenes he liked to paint. The light was tricky, I tried several settings, but none of the shots came out as I intended :-(
