Sedgwick Aquaduct #178

Mr P announced he was going to run along side the Lancaster Canal and after all the hearts for my Blip of the Canal at Garstang perhaps there would be some photo opportunities. He did not realise there was no water in the canal at Sedgwick,. Its what's described as the "Northern Reaches";  300m of stranded canal .   This is the end where the canal goes in an aquaduct over the road. I think its as close as the canal can get to Kendal.  I walked south to a bridge which is now in a field and marks the other end of the stranded 300m.  In extras are two pictures from the bridge - one looking into the stranded bit showing it sad, soggy and overgrown and another looking south showing the now non existent canal and its course marked only by dip in the field and the footpath. So short sighted.
