Just around the corner....the P.S. Melbourne, 100 years old - and still going strong.
This morning we waited for it to pass by on it's journey down the river - just a little way, always with excited tourists on board, from everywhere..
It is beautiful day, and why not go for a journey! But then, we have many beautiful days here apart from our recent HOT DAYS - the highest recorded here for a November..
When it turned around to return back to the main wharf, we captured it between the beautiful river red-gums. One, featured here, you can see has fallen over onto the other which is supporting this giant as well. It would have been there, together, hugging each other it seems - for many years..
The river red-gums shown here are typical of the giants, in places, lining the banks of this particular ancient River Murray..
The old Paddlesteamer's hull and deck was made from the red-gums all those years ago...
