What a lovely little town this is. Well, the old town, anyway. UNESCO listed or something, just like Edinburgh old town, and it’s even got a German Christmas market too. Though it might actually be Estonian. So, we trotted round the churches, the walls, the viewpoints, the cute shops, the coffee shops, before a couple of teatime beers at Põrgu, down in the cellar.
Then back for a sauna, steam, jacuzzi and swim, and out in the nippy air to Rataskaevu 16 for the most wonderful meal - all trad: herrings followed by elk. As I’m sure the locals do. And we even got a rye loaf to take away at the end. And as far as I know we still have it.
