Erster Tag

So, my first day. An all-day workshop. Which I had to find first. In a part of the city I don't know. I had worried about being late like I was in my first job here in Germany. But being me, I was twenty minutes early and the first to arrive.

They had a conference room booked in the Hotel for us. On the 12th floor, with awesome views over the Taunus and over Wiesbaden. Which disappeared before I could get my camera out of my rucksack as a snowstorm rolled in and covered everything in clouds and snow for the rest of the day.

The workshop was a blizzard of words and sentence constructs that I've never heard before (what the heck is a Verbindlichkeit?*). BUT. There was enough for me to get the gist of what was being said and I enjoyed what I could.

I met my new team mates and they were really nice. And I'm looking forward to working with them.

And so, today's Blip is a nice snowy Wiesbaden scene.

*I knew the word Verbindung (connection) and I was trying and failing to figure out what Verbindlichkeit meant - it's a commitment or obligation. Sometimes I really miss my Dictionaries.
