Clydeside pupils take over the exhibition...

Pupils from 14 schools came into the exhibition today to take it over.

They welcomed Cabinet Secretary for Education and Learning, Mike Russell and had a great time sharing their love of George Wyllie's work with him, and explaining a bit about their own creations, whether sculptures, poems, music, paintings, garlands...

Some of the pupils introduced Mr Russell to particular pieces of George's work, others played George's music, while yet others ran paper boat building workshops. BBC had also been in earlier, filming the pupils for a Hogmanay broadcast.

Just before Mr Russell left, some of the pupils presented him with examples of their work. In this shot, Vicky (P6, Gourock PS) made a gift out of one of her tiny wee boats. You can read his reaction on his Feorlean blip journal.

The photo was taken by another of the pupils, Richard (S5, Bellahouston Academy) who was official photographer for the day and produced a great album of the event...

All of the pupils did really well, in whatever role they took on, so, for the record, thanks to...

...Roden, Olivia and Adam (P4, St Fillan's PS, Renfrewshire);
...Ben and Aaron (P5, Elmvale PS, Glasgow);
...Natalie and Callum (P6, Dalry PS, North Ayrshire);

We are all very proud of each one of you!

(And our thanks also to your enthusiastic and very supportive teachers...)
