Is the High Street Dead?

This is the pedestrianised part of Channel Street in Galashiels five days before Xmas. I took it a half past four this afternoon. There were very few people around. I can’t see the shops that are still open in Gala remaining so for much longer.

Where was I going? I was heading to the Royal Mail Sorting Office to join the queue to pick up a parcel that I’d ordered on line!

Our whole way of shopping has changed over the last decade, I’m just not sure what will happen to shops now.
