Calm

We were in Penrith this morning, going from one shop to another, and then back via our butcher in Appleby. We were very efficient and the supermarkets were just a bit busier than usual. However, it was a relief to be in Booths, the calmest, quietest most peaceful supermarket there is. None of the endless, and tiresome, Christmas music, no messages over the speakers, everything is hushed and no one is in a hurry. A delight. Mind you the car park was a different matter. I think everyone was in there for lunch and spaces were at a premium.
