Christmas has arrived

This evening after work I went and took some photos in town of the annual traditional event "crying Christmas " it is over 600 years old and has been reintroduced in the past few years by the Lincoln waites . Every year in medieval times the Waites would proclaim the start of Christmas. This would let people know that the usual rules and laws were relaxed for the Christmas festival season, allowing them to be drunk and gamble amongst other things . The parade set off from Newport arch in Lincoln and went down hill to the stonbow. This shot is of them coming down the high st more shots from the parade can be seen HERE . I took shots of it last year and one of them was used on the official flyer about the event.
Nearly time for the Christmas break for me just tomorrow morning to go in work. Hope you all have a good one
