Lombok

I was really only passing though Bali as this morning I caught a fast boat to Lombok. What a beautiful island. Someone described it as Bali twenty years ago and that’s a very good description.

After a wonderful beachside lunch I caught a mini bus and headed to eastern Lombok and on the way came across a traditional Lombok wedding. The noise was incredible! It is traditional for the groom to kidnap the bride rather than ask for her hand in marriage. A very special event to behold.

I’m now settled into my mountain cabin for the night :)
