Christmas At Last

Today was the first day our extended family all had time to be together, so we had our Christmas at last. Took the train to Lichfield, drew names for Secret Friend, and then had an hour to buy a gift for around £15. Lots of fun and hiding and avoiding each other, and then a drink in this Lounge, followed by a look at the decorations in the Cathedral, stunning place. Extra shows some of the 20,000 peace doves made by local children suspended in the nave, and a red crucifix that I loved.

Back on the train to ours, ordered takeaway curry, and then gave out our gifts while we waited for the food. The rule is that you have to say something nice about your secret friend, then everyone guesses who it is.

Fun, relaxed, and good memories, like last year, when we were all (except Sam's grandparents) in Mourão, with the Padre. Thankfully, I am in good health; Mike less so this time, suffering with a man cold.
