Six

A trip to the Stone Jetty in Morecambe this afternoon to capture a blip to mark six years which was a little more thought out than a shot of Bailey, my sewing or a Christmas present. I was fairly certain that the Tern Project would provide a six but couldn't quite remember how magpies actually featured in spite of countless visits. Magpie Hopscotch appears part way down the jetty, today with added Bailey - not looking at the camera, of course. In this version, Earth is at the bottom and Heaven at the top. One is for sorrow, two for mirth, three for a wedding and four for a birth, five is for rich and six for poor and seven for a witch. (Let's hope that doesn't put the kibosh on a lottery win this year!) The red paint which first marked out the text is long gone. Not surprising really as a bit of googling suggests that it'll have been there for 20 years next year.

I still feel that the 1st January should be my actual blip-versary each year but two thousand one hundred and ninety consecutive blips are worth marking. Even if it is with a grey afternoon in Morecambe.
