Betrayal

That was exactly how Vang felt about me this morning :( He wouldn't even look at me!

We have been crate training Vang on and off for the last couple of months now - trying to get him used to going inside one of our small animal cages. I usually put a small bowl of food in the back of the crate and just watch him while he walks inside and eats. The last few weeks he has been standing fully inside with the door open. Today was the day we closed it behind him! He has been intermittently lame on his hind leg and with the specialist surgeon visiting it was the perfect opportunity for us to assess his back leg properly.

Thankfully I wasn't around whilst our vet K. gave him the sedative injection - I didn't want to be the only bad guy! Thankfully the surgeon gave his knees the all clear and we didn't need to do xrays or surgery :) We recovered him quickly and before long he was trotting away from all of us distrustfully..

But tonight when I got home for work he came bounding up to me made a little whimpering noise (saying "I forgive you" perhaps?) then was back to his normal self.

Eugi is doing quite well today. Its very early days and he is on strict confinement for the next ten days, but overall he seems to be quite content in his hospital cage. He is already stretching his leg out a little bit more then he could before though :)
