Day 001/19. A bridge to no-where.

This bridge is on the River Itchen to the north of Southampton.
Years ago it was the main east/west road, the A27. Before a new bridge was built, and before the motorway M27 was built.
I can just about remember the traffic lights for the single lane of traffic to cross. Todays level of road traffic would have no chance of going anywhere.
Today its only for foot traffic of dog walkers and people out for a leisurely stroll, like us. But not always quiet....it is on the final approach path to Southampton Airport. (see extra picture)
