Early one morning just as the sun was rising ...

... I took a very quick trip to the Heritage Park Loch. The outside temperature registered at -6C and I expected the loch to be frozen .... no such luck (for me anyway!)

As usual the swans were looking for food but I was the wrong person to target ... not even a slice of bread in my pocket!
They turned their backs on me and swam away in disgust!

I was out later with L and another friend. This time I did have a tub of bird seed with me. I scattered some on the top of the frosty barrel and then stood back and waited. The tits are too quick, hardly resting on the barrel, but this nuthatch did stop for a few seconds and I was able to take one very quick, but not very sharp photo.
