The lonely pub

First trip to the sea this year and we had a day out in Whitstable.

Bracing walk along the beach from Tankerton. The pub in my blip is The Old Neptune which dates from the early 19th century and is one of the few pubs in britain to be located on a beach.

From the pub you can see along the beach to Seasalter which is the next westerly seaside village. The Isle of Sheppy is opposite and the Whitstable oyster beds could be seen very clearly as it was low tide.

Whitstable is famous for its oysters and there are shacks alongside the main beach selling them. Just for the record I would not eat them no matter how environmentally sustainable they are. Most of the bars and restaurants are owned by the Whitstable Oyster Company including the converted fishermen's huts that are holiday lets.

After two weeks of no gym or studio classes I am returning to my club tomorrow to do a zumba class followed by a swim. Whether that will make any difference to the Christmas excess weight remains to be seen.
